Empowering Youth, One Note at a Time

“MusicDNA delivered by Jonny tapped deep into the students as individuals. They were challenged to think about who they were as people and the experiences that shaped them. Jonny immediately created an environment of trust, and our students began to take risks with their lyrics and compositions. The transformation was incredible, and many left believing they could pursue careers in the music industry.” — Peta Boboe, Head of Arts Faculty, Kawana Waters State College

Education Programs

Empowering the next Generation through Music, Creativity & Education
Created, Founded & Developed by Jonny Murphy & Chrissy Hulsby

The Music DNA Foundation delivers immersive, industry-led music education programs that inspire creativity, build confidence and introduce young people to the exciting world of music production and the creative industries.

One of our flagship education initiatives was successfully delivered at Kawana Waters State College in Queensland, where founder Jonny Murphy was engaged as an educator to facilitate a five-week Music DNA Masterclass.

Throughout the program, students worked alongside Jonny to explore songwriting, music production, recording techniques and creative collaboration. By the end of the course, students had written, recorded and professionally produced their own original music—experiencing the complete creative process from concept to finished track.

The program received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, teachers and school leadership. Educators observed increased student engagement, confidence, collaboration and enthusiasm throughout the five weeks, while the program contributed to a positive and creative culture across the school community.

The success of the Music DNA Masterclass demonstrated how industry-led music education can complement traditional classroom learning by developing creativity, teamwork, communication skills and real-world career pathways within the creative industries.

Today, Music DNA offers flexible programs for schools across Australia, including:

• One-day Music Production Masterclasses
• Multi-week school programs (5–10 weeks)
• Songwriting and Recording Workshops
• DJ and Beat Making Masterclasses
• Creative Industry Career Pathways Programs
• School Holiday Workshops
• Teacher Professional Development Sessions

Every program is designed to empower students through creativity, providing practical industry skills while building confidence, resilience and a lifelong passion for learning through music.
